The co-director of ESDESIGN's Master's in Fashion Brand Creation and Management took part alongside Berta Segura in the opening of "Tiempo + Materia" with "Hacking the World: Craft", a talk-workshop on trends, innovation, futures thinking and creativity

Francesca Tur, co-director of the Master's in Fashion Brand Creation and Management at ESDESIGN, Higher School of Design in Barcelona, part of Planeta Formación y Universidades, took part in València Design Fest on 10 September alongside director, analyst, planner and researcher Berta Segura.

The event was part of the fourth edition of València Design Fest, organised by the Fundació del Disseny de la Comunitat Valenciana and held from 10 September to 15 October 2026. The festival brings together more than 60 activities across 30 venues in Valencia, exploring areas such as contemporary craftsmanship, architecture, sustainability, innovation and emerging talent. Its programme aims to create a space for exchange and reflection around design, connecting it with culture and other areas of contemporary creativity while bringing it closer to both professionals and the wider public.

Tur and Segura's proposal was presented as a space for exploring contemporary life. Through a critical perspective, the Hacking The World project examines the changes affecting society and individuals and raises questions about today's challenges.

On this occasion, craftsmanship served as a starting point for exploring issues related to trends, conscious marketing, innovation, futures thinking and creativity. The activity also focused on individual, collective and social talent, as well as on the need to observe the present from different perspectives. This approach makes it possible to explore design beyond its formal dimension and examine how new behaviours, needs and values can influence creative processes.

This participation reinforces ESDESIGN's commitment to the critical analysis of the present and to educating professionals capable of interpreting contemporary complexity through design, strategy and culture.
