Interview with Martín Rosales, student of the Master’s in Urban, Architectural Space and Mobility Design
Our student Martín Rosales, from the Master’s in Urban, Architectural Space and Mobility Design, shares his thoughts on his experience at ESDESIGN.
Why did you decide to study a Master’s at ESDESIGN?
When I decided to pursue a Master’s, I was working on several projects related to architectural and urban design at the Planning Secretariat in my city. ESDESIGN’s comprehensive syllabus created high expectations regarding the extra level of knowledge I could acquire—knowledge that would undoubtedly strengthen my professional background. This led me to choose it over other options.
What did you like most about the school?
I really liked its dynamics, the rigour of the different modules that make up the programme, and the quality of the lecturers. Every topic covered was not only thorough but also completely applicable to real-life professional development.
What would you say to those considering studying at ESDESIGN?
I would encourage them to go for it. ESDESIGN is a school whose content and programmes are of outstanding quality. While completing the programme is very satisfying, the knowledge you gain is even more enriching.
What is your best memory of this experience?
There are many memories. The chance to meet professionals from other countries and exchange ideas with them made the whole study period very enjoyable; I’m still in contact with several of my classmates and colleagues.
Define ESDESIGN in three words.
Dynamism, quality, and excellence.
What doors has studying at ESDESIGN opened for you?
I was recently invited to work as a consultant for the Sub-secretariat of Modernisation, a department that works across all other Secretariats within my city's municipality.
What are you currently working on? Which projects are you involved in?
I currently serve as the Director of my own architecture studio and, simultaneously, work at the Municipal Sub-secretariat of Modernisation. Among the projects I'm involved in, I can mention single-family homes, and we recently started working on the development of a Productive District that considers public space design as a tool for urban and social regeneration.
If you could repeat this experience, would you?
I would do it with great pleasure, especially knowing the quality of the school.
Thank you for your words, Martín! :)
