Study Plan of the Master’s in Product Development and Digital Modelling
The online Professional Master’s Degree in Product Design and Digital Modelling is composed of 10 courses, the Master’s Final Project, 1 open session, 2 additional workshops related to the programme, and 2 transversal workshops.
You will immerse yourself in the creative world, developing a more analytical and critical perspective on objects and their function. You will learn to observe, interpret and question your surroundings in order to approach each project with an active and conscious mindset. You will analyse why and how objects are created, understanding their conceptual value and their relationship with the user, two essential elements that ultimately define their form.

He studied art and industrial design. He works across design, architecture, communication, cultural management and social activism. He writes specialised articles and books.
You will explore the use of Artificial Intelligence as a support tool in product design, understanding its fundamental concepts, its evolution, and its real impact on the industry. You will see how AI can help you generate ideas, analyse users, and automate key processes. You will also work on its application in the early stages of a project, from briefing and market research to conceptualisation and creative ideation using advanced tools.

MARC RIBAS, INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER
He specialises in the application of AI to product design. After starting his career in the lighting sector and teaching at UPC, he currently researches at Magma Design the disruptive impact of AI across different areas of design. He combines his research activity with an active role in knowledge-sharing through conferences, personalised mentoring, and his Marc Design channel, where he helps professionals, companies and creatives understand and apply AI tools to optimise processes and unlock new possibilities in design. He has collaborated with more than 15 universities and companies, establishing himself as an emerging voice at the intersection of technology, innovation and applied creativity.
Desarrollarás la capacidad de traducir ideas en bocetos claros y expresivos, dominando las técnicas esenciales de sketching. Trabajarás diferentes estilos de representación con el fin de mostrar correctamente volúmenes, detalles y mecanismos. Con más de 20 años de experiencia en sectores como automoción, electrónica, herramientas, iluminación y electrodomésticos. Inició su carrera en el Centro Técnico de SEAT y desde 2007 forma parte de Ànima Barcelona, donde actualmente trabaja como Project Manager y consultor de diseño externo. Ha desarrollado proyectos para marcas como Seat, Motorola, Midea, Volta Motorbikes, Da Vinci Alloy Wheels, DV Motorsports, Makita, Sumec, Minibatt, Quimera Responsible Racing, Scalextric o GoKleer. Apasionado por el diseño de producto y los vehículos, combina experiencia técnica y visión creativa para dar respuesta a retos complejos de diseño en entornos internacionales.

HÉCTOR SERRANO, INDUSTRIAL DESIGNER AND FOUNDER OF HÉCTOR SERRANO STUDIO
He has collaborated with clients such as Muji, FontanaArte, Roca, Moooi, Gandia Blasco, ICEX, Coachella, Droog Design, Metalarte and La Casa Encendida. Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards, including the Peugeot Design Award, the Spanish National Design Award 2024, second prize for the design of the new London bus (together with Miñarro García and Javier Esteban), and Designer of the Year 2009 by AD magazine. His work has been exhibited in museums such as the V&A in London and the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum in New York.
You will learn to transform your ideas and sketches into precise 3D models using SolidWorks. You will master the essential tools of parametric modelling to create complex geometries, explore variations and resolve technical product details. You will also learn how to prepare your models for photorealistic visualisations and generate the necessary documentation for prototyping or production, developing a professional workflow from concept to final model.

In 2014, he co-founded Volta Motorbikes, where he served on the board of directors and led the development of electric motorcycles. He currently works as a motorbike designer at joansabata, his specialised studio, where he designs vehicles and leads projects across multiple sectors, including consumer electronics, home equipment, machine tools and mobility. He has collaborated with brands such as Motorola, Midea, Makita, Bathco, Sumec and RBS, delivering innovative and functional solutions through industrial design.
You will learn how to bring your models to life using KeyShot, a software specialised in photorealistic rendering. You will explore how to create compelling scenes, apply materials, set up lighting and adjust cameras to produce images that clearly communicate your design intent. You will develop a workflow that allows you to present your projects with a professional finish.

FEDERICO LUIS DEL BLANCO, ARCHITECT
He specialises in visualisation and the use of new technologies applied to design, representation and reconstruction in architecture, landscape and product. He teaches at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, where he is also a member of the academic committee. He has been a guest lecturer in experimental visualisation workshops at the School of Architecture of Madrid and, beyond academia, has collaborated with various architecture studios and contributed to the development of urban projects.
You will develop complete projects that take your ideas from sketch to final product, advancing towards proposals ready for prototyping or production. You will work on 3D modelling and technical definition, focusing on materials, manufacturing processes and design feasibility. You will consolidate your skills in modelling, rendering and technical documentation, creating professional presentations that clearly communicate the essence and functionality of your products.

JORDI BLASI, INDUSTRIAL DESIGNER, STRATEGIC CONSULTANT AND DESIGN WRITER
He worked for 10 years as an industrial designer at Morillas Brand Design, contributing to projects in product design, packaging, furniture and lighting, with a comprehensive understanding of the design process from concept to final development. He holds a Master’s degree in Research in Art and Design from UAB and combines his professional work with strategic consultancy, art direction and teaching. He also collaborates as a writer for specialised media such as On Diseño and Experimenta, where he contributes analysis and critical thinking on design culture.
You will explore how materials such as plastics, ceramics, glass and textiles are transformed, understanding their properties and possibilities in product design. You will learn about the most widely used industrial processes, technical requirements and key plastic materials in the industry. You will also explore the world of composites and the advantages of nanotechnology-based materials for developing more efficient, durable and innovative products.

BERNAT FAURA, MATERIALS ENGINEER, PRODUCT DESIGNER AND INDUSTRIAL DESIGNER
He is co-founder and director of Plumartis, a consultancy where he specialises in materials, developing products for sectors such as furniture, industrial machinery and other areas of technical design. His approach integrates deep material knowledge with product development, understanding materials not only as functional elements but also as expressive and sensory components that generate impact and engagement with the environment. His work has been recognised with awards such as Design for Recycling and mentions in the FAD Awards. He also teaches at several universities, delivering courses related to projects, materials and technical documentation, and is particularly interested in how design and engineering processes can improve sustainability in products, processes and packaging.
You will learn how metals and wood are transformed, understanding their properties, common processes and technical requirements, as well as the relationship between production volumes, costs and design decisions. You will also be introduced to SolidWorks sheet metal tools and specific features for modelling plastic parts, combining technical knowledge and practice to develop precise, functional designs ready for manufacturing.

MIQUEL TEJERO, INDUSTRIAL DESIGNER AND BUSINESS INNOVATION CONSULTANT, CEO AT ARRIBELL AND DIRECTOR OF BOO IN BARCELONA
Through his studio, he has worked with brands such as American Express, SCPF, Etnia Barcelona, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Brosmind, Escofet and Compeixalaigua, transforming ideas into industrialised products, from limited editions to global production. He has received awards including 8 Cannes Lions (Pay per Laugh, Canada production company), the ADI-FAD Delta de Opinión (Cabinet), the RED Critics’ Award (Savage, by Goula/Figuera), the ADI-FAD Bronze Medal and the Design Plus 2012 award from the German Design Council (Folio, by Pablo Figuera).
You will develop the skills needed to communicate your projects clearly, attractively and professionally. You will learn how to prepare graphic materials that convey your ideas with precision, working with photography, composition, typography and visual resources that reinforce your message. Through practical exercises, you will build your own graphic language, enabling you to present your designs with clarity and consistency.

JOFRE MAÑÉ, GRAPHIC DESIGNER AT MANEKO
Graphic designer at Maneko, where he develops editorial design, corporate identity and web design projects for clients such as Santander Universidades, Teatre del Liceu, BDO and Laboratorios Viñas, among others. Specialised in typography, branding and user experience, he combines creativity and technical expertise to deliver effective visual solutions.
This is a self-directed learning space where you will find resources and exercises to learn, improve or refine your skills in representational drawing. You will be able to practise at your own pace, strengthen techniques and develop greater visual fluency. An environment designed to support your progress and complement the work carried out throughout the programme.

JORGE WIMES, FOUNDER AND CREATIVE DIRECTOR AT MANEKO
Graphic designer and UX/UI specialist with over 16 years of experience in interactive and digital projects. He has witnessed and contributed to the evolution of digital media across leading companies.
You will learn the fundamental techniques to create videos and animations from digital models. You will work with SolidWorks and KeyShot to build dynamic and visually impactful scenes. You will develop skills to present products and projects in a clearer and more engaging way. A solid foundation to enter the world of professional digital animation.

Founder and Head Storyteller at Storytelling&Co., specialised in the strategic use of corporate narratives as a communication tool. For more than 10 years, he has worked with companies, organisations, and institutions helping them build authentic and emotional stories that connect with their audiences. He is also part of the Red de Consultores Totales, where he promotes the creation of purpose-driven, human, and collaborative businesses capable of generating value and a sense of belonging.
You will explore the principles of Design Thinking through a new perspective on collaborative design that places the user at the centre and rethinks and adapts traditional design processes. You will acquire the tools needed to develop new methodologies in creative and entrepreneurial processes, using the latest techniques such as Manual Thinking, SCAMPER and lateral thinking.

TOMOKO SAKAMOTO, CO-FOUNDER OF SPREAD
Architect, editor and designer of architecture and design books at Actar. She has designed and coordinated several exhibitions at the RAS exhibition space/bookshop.
Throughout the Master’s Final Project supervision, students are guided to fully develop their creativity and apply the knowledge acquired during the programme. They will also be introduced to new tools that will support the development and execution of their project.

In the Master’s in Product Design and Digital Modelling, and thanks to ESDESIGN’s role as a SOLIDWORKS Academic Provider, we will support your preparation to obtain the CSWA, CSWP and CSWPA certifications free of charge, along with additional benefits such as access to beta versions of the software and internship opportunities offered by SOLIDWORKS. Qualification
Upon successful completion of the programme and after completing the required administrative procedures, you will receive the ESDESIGN Master’s Degree. In addition, you will have the possibility of obtaining a Lifelong Learning Master’s Degree from the Universidad Internacional de Valencia, provided that you meet the academic, documentation, payment and administrative requirements established by the institution.
To obtain this qualification, you must hold a prior university degree (Bachelor’s Degree, Engineering Degree or equivalent). In exceptional cases, if you do not hold such a degree but can demonstrate relevant professional experience in the field and have successfully passed the Master’s assessments, you will be awarded a Certificate from the Universidad Internacional de Valencia (VIU).
