Review by Carla Díaz, student on the Professional Master’s Degree in Product Design
We spoke with Carla Díaz, student on the Professional Master’s Degree in Product Design at ESDESIGN and creator of the project Portable Coffee Maker, to learn about her time at the school and her experience as a designer.
Hello Carla! How are you? Tell us briefly who you are...
Creative, curious, active and perfectionist, that is who I am. Carla Díaz Tato, a twenty-four-year-old Industrial Design Engineer interested in the development of intelligent and functional ideas, with a particular interest in 3D modelling.
What do you currently do?
I am currently working at EDAG, based in Barcelona, carrying out automotive projects for SEAT.
Which project is the most special to you? Why?
The project that stands out the most in my career so far is the SEAT Bi20, the result of my Final Degree Project in Industrial Design Engineering and Product Development, through which I gained a great deal of learning and a major professional leap, as I was offered an internship at the company where I am working today.
Why did you decide to study online? How was your experience?
Once I had submitted the project mentioned above, my curiosity and desire to continue expanding and complementing my knowledge remained, so I decided to enrol on the Master’s programme at ESDESIGN. I chose the school because, thanks to its online format, I had the opportunity to combine it with work and other activities.
How was your experience on the Master’s?
This Master’s helped me enrich my knowledge of product design and software programmes.
What do you take away from the teaching staff and your classmates?
I take away a great learning experience, both from the course content and from the outstanding professionals who taught it, all of whom are active in the industry and bring you closer to the real world. Likewise, it is a programme that enhances the collaborative aspect through its group projects. It is also worth highlighting that having studied in an international environment has given me the privilege of building new relationships with people from different cultures, adopting new and diverse ways of working.
