África Almagro, a student of the Master’s in Fashion Brand Management and Creation, shares her review of ESDESIGN.

 

Tell us briefly about yourself.

My name is África Almagro; I studied fashion design and completed the Master’s in Fashion Brand Management and Creation at ESDESIGN.


Why did you decide to take the Master’s at ESDESIGN?

I chose the Master’s because, ultimately, what we were taught during my degree was a working methodology and how to approach different projects. What ESDESIGN offered me was the chance to extrapolate that into a much more professional vision with active professionals. For example, working with Rita Rou was an experience I truly enjoyed; being able to talk and share feedback on the work, and seeing how she viewed and managed her own brand on a daily basis. I loved that. It was the same with Francesca; her communication skills are incredible—really cool, really cool. And Mireia as well, she was brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.


Define ESDESIGN in three words.

If I had to define my time at ESDESIGN in three words, they would be flexibility, professionalism, and communication.


What doors has studying at ESDESIGN opened for you?

Actually, I was able to do an internship after finishing the Master’s. I interned at a fashion company and was able to tackle the entire process of creating a brand. This helped me work with a brand called HELLEN and deal with various areas within the same company.


What advice would you give to someone who wants to study at ESDESIGN?

The advice I would give to someone considering studying at ESDESIGN is that, for me, it was important to have all the classes, documentation, and work compiled in one place. Having such an open campus and being able to access it whenever I needed was very important to me, as was learning from and observing active professionals in the sector.
