Mireia Matas’s review of the Professional Master’s Degree in Interior Design

Mireia Matas, student on the Professional Master’s Degree in Interior Design, shares her opinion on her experience at ESDESIGN.

Tell us briefly who you are.

Well, I’m Mireia Matas Delgado and I am currently studying the Professional Master’s Degree in Interior Design, which is now coming to an end. It finishes in October and we present it in November.

Why did you decide to take the Master’s at ESDESIGN?

It is a school that you can combine very well with work. It is a school that focuses strongly on teaching you the subject matter in order to prepare you for the professional world. I am already 36 years old and starting a four-year degree now and then doing internships and everything else… I simply do not have the time for that, so I believe that the knowledge it gives you is perfectly suited to entering the professional world alongside the previous experience you may already have.

Define ESDESIGN in three words:

Well, if I had to define my experience at ESDESIGN, I would define it with three words: one is confidence, another is opportunity, and the other is experience.

What doors has studying at ESDESIGN opened for you?

Exchanging ways of thinking within the professional world of interior design and being able to speak with clients where I am currently working, perhaps opening a door for myself in the professional world by already being able to express my design ideas… so I believe it is giving me the tools for the workplace.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to study at ESDESIGN?

I would tell them to go for it and not get too comfortable at the beginning, because at first it seems like it will be much easier than what comes afterwards. That is to say, it is a very good introduction, there are excellent teachers, and then you start to realise that you are learning everything. When the course ends, you have — well, I’m going to repeat myself with the idea of tools — but you really do have all the knowledge, in one very compact year, that can open the door to the professional world. Afterwards, you still have to earn it yourself, but I believe it is a very good school to train in one year and then continue learning and growing. I truly think it is a great starting point.
