What is visual language?
Visual language is a communication tool that uses images, symbols, colors, shapes, and other graphic elements to convey ideas, emotions, or information. This language operates through visual perception and is based on principles such as composition, contrast, proportion, and harmony. Just like verbal language, visual language has its own rules. Through them, we can interpret messages, although their meaning may vary depending on the cultural and social context in which they are used.
Different artistic disciplines make use of visual language, such as graphic design, photography, or film, as it is essential for effective communication. For example, colors can evoke certain emotions, while shapes and lines can guide attention or convey abstract concepts. Since this type of communication has the ability to transcend language barriers, being more closely related to how our brain works, the message can still be understood even across different cultures.
