All The Little Things

Gabriela Stephanie Álvarez, María Luisa Orantes and María Guadalupe Trejo, students on the Professional Master’s Degree in Illustration and Animation at ESDESIGN, present their project, All the Little Things. This project proposes a new way of approaching emotional introspection in youth through an illustrated graphic novel and its trailer, focusing on the importance of recognising and healing childhood wounds. The work seeks to foster an understanding of how these early experiences can unconsciously influence responses to social interactions and situations in adult life.

The project centres on the practice of healing the inner child, offering narrative and visual tools that allow the reader to explore their own emotional process in an accessible and reflective way. The illustration and book design are developed with a sensitive and approachable perspective, creating an immersive experience that harmoniously combines narrative, image and emotion.

Unlike other young adult books, All the Little Things integrates its graphic content with a trailer that amplifies the emotional experience, providing a bridge between reading and personal reflection. The visual design seeks to convey calm, empathy and safety, facilitating the reader’s connection with the themes addressed and reinforcing the relevance of introspection in personal development.

This Master’s Final Project stands out for its ability to address an intimate and sensitive subject in a creative and accessible way, promoting emotional self-management and healing from childhood, and showing how graphic storytelling can be a powerful tool for growth and reflection for young audiences.

This Master’s Final Project received a special mention in the ESDESIGN Master’s Final Project Awards.
