Romualdo Faura, Programme Director of the Master in Illustration and Animation at ESDESIGN, Barcelona School of Design — part of Planeta Formación y Universidades — has been responsible for the design of ‘Madrid en el Mundo 2025’, a publication produced for Madrid City Council that outlines the city's positioning in various international rankings.
The report analyses Madrid’s presence in global and European leaderboards related to areas such as quality of life, innovation, talent attraction, sustainability, investment, and the business ecosystem. Through comparative data and clear visualisations, the publication offers a global X-ray of the capital and its progress across strategic indicators.
From a graphic standpoint, the project stands out for its structured and educational visual approach, where illustration and visual synthesis play a key role in making complex information easy to read. The combination of infographics, colour coding, and dynamic compositions helps turn data into an accessible and engaging editorial experience.
