Student Portfolio: Bedroom Decoration
This project, carried out by the Director of the Master’s in Decoration, Magali Bastidas, featured an architecture very characteristic of homes in the Eixample, where hydraulic flooring, rooms with high ceilings and mouldings in furniture, ceilings and walls stood out.
It is important to take these qualities into account in order to propose a decoration that enhances the beauty of the space. In this case, inspiration was sought from Parisian homes, which have architecture with similar features, and it was believed that this could work. For this reason, a mix of vintage pieces, textiles with a classic line, and a more romantic decoration was used.
To highlight the spaciousness of the room, a large custom-made headboard was created from wall to wall in herringbone fabric, adding an elegant touch. Instead of a bedside table, a dressing table was proposed to fulfil both functions, and the space was complemented with armchairs in the beautiful gallery overlooking the inner courtyard.
