Student Portfolio: Renovation of a Flat in L’Eixample - Barcelona

Virginie Corbisier, Bogi Velasco, Ana Flores, Paula Pietra students of the Professional Master’s Degree in Interior Decoration at ESDESIGN, present their project, Renovation of a Flat in L’Eixample - Barcelona. 

This interior design and decoration project transforms a modernist flat in Barcelona’s Eixample, respecting original elements such as Nolla mosaic, ornamental mouldings and century-old carpentry. The intervention adapts the home to the contemporary life of a large family, combining heritage and functionality.

The proposal develops personalised spaces, such as an acoustic mezzanine for remote work, creative play areas and bedrooms adapted to each stage of childhood. A sculptural lattice redefines the entrance hall, creating fluid spatial transitions and adding identity to the home.

The project integrates historical materials with noble elements such as wood, brass and handcrafted ceramics, in dialogue with contemporary design. Warm, adjustable lighting reinforces the atmosphere of the space, reflecting the practical approach of the online Professional Master’s Degree in Interior Decoration at ESDESIGN and the construction of a professional portfolio in interior design.
