Student Portfolio: CASA ALEBRÚ
Verónica Mendoza, Alejandra Salcido Torres, students of the Professional Master’s Degree in Interior Decoration at ESDESIGN, present their project, CASA ALEBRÚ.
Casa Alebrú is a residential interior decoration project that transforms a home in Barcelona’s Eixample into a functional, sensitive space prepared to evolve over time. Developed by the studio Casa Vera, the project is based on an in-depth analysis of routines, tastes and family dynamics to create a coherent design adaptable to each stage of life.
The proposal prioritises fluidity between social and private areas, ensuring both shared living spaces and zones for privacy and work. Each room is designed in a personalised way, responding to the needs of each family member and fostering a balance between functionality, comfort and wellbeing in everyday life.
One of the key values of the project is respect for the original architecture, preserving elements of great historical value such as mouldings and the characteristic mosaic flooring of the Eixample. These are integrated harmoniously into the new design, demonstrating how, through interior decoration, it is possible to engage with the past without renouncing contemporary needs, one of the key competences developed in the online Professional Master’s Degree in Interior Decoration at ESDESIGN.
