Nuclear Poetics
Felipe Caro, student on the Professional Master’s Degree in Editorial Design and Digital Publishing at ESDESIGN, presents his project, Nuclear Poetics.
An experimental poetry editorial project in which, through infographics, typographic experimentation and isometric compositions, the author’s own writings are deconstructed. In its printed version, the use of different paper substrates with transparencies offers a second reading in which design and object hold equal importance.
The design has been developed through the continuous simile and metaphor of Chemistry and Nuclear Physics, where, through typographic decomposition, poetry is approached as a scientific element that can be constructed, destroyed and intervened in any possible way. The design methodology leads the reader, through cards, references and all kinds of visual aids, to understand that poetry has a “measurable origin” and, consequently, to dismantle the very spirit of its creation and, with it, its author.
