ESDESIGN celebrates a decade of creativity with the audiovisual project "A story, still being designed"
ESDESIGN, Barcelona School of Design — part of Planeta Formación y Universidades — commemorates its tenth anniversary with the launch of ‘A story, still being designed’, an audiovisual project that captures the voices and experiences of those who have been part of the institution's history and who, from various fields of design and creativity, have helped build its identity.
The initiative brings together members of the teaching and academic staff, alumni, and collaborators in a choral conversation that proposes a shared reflection on what it means to design today and how creative education has evolved over the last decade."
Ten years empowering your talent
The project stems from a simple yet powerful idea: looking back to understand the journey taken and projecting forward what is yet to come. Through five main pillars, different voices reconstruct a decade marked by the transformation of the sector and the consolidation of an educational model adapted to new digital environments.
From memories of the early moments linked to the school to questions about how it will continue to evolve in a context of constant change, ‘A story, still being designed’ draws a narrative that combines memory, analysis, and strategic vision.
Creativity in motion
Throughout the project, key issues are addressed, such as the evolution of creative processes, the coexistence of human talent and technology, the need for disruption, and the role of purpose-driven design in an increasingly complex world.
The interventions reflect a common idea: design is not static. It changes, adapts, and constantly redefines itself. And ESDESIGN has grown alongside that movement, integrating new tools, methodologies, and ways of thinking about creativity in the online environment.

A community beyond the classroom
Beyond technical learning, the project highlights the community as its backbone. ESDESIGN presents itself not just as a training space, but as a connection network between people, stories, and ways of understanding design.
The conversation demonstrates how exchange, collaboration, and mentorship have been key to building a collective identity that goes far beyond the virtual classroom.
Envisioning the future
After a decade of growth, the school reaffirms its commitment to design that impacts real life, generates transformation, and understands creativity as a strategic tool for facing the challenges of the present and the future.
With this project, ESDESIGN not only celebrates its past but reinforces its purpose: to continue empowering talent and building a story, still being designed.
