ESDESIGN reaches the final of the 2026 Delta Medals with two shortlisted projects

ESDESIGN, the Higher School of Design of Barcelona, part of Planeta Formación y Universidades, celebrates a new milestone in its academic and creative journey by reaching, for the second consecutive edition, the final of the 2026 Delta Medals, one of the most prestigious product design recognitions in Spain.
In this 30th edition of the Delta Medals, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of their creation, the jury has selected 15 finalist projects from a total of 104 proposals submitted by universities and design schools from across Spain. Among them, two projects developed by ESDESIGN students stand out: Boundless, by Iván Alejandro Hernández and Fátima Franco, and Domus, by Lilian Chowell and José Alberto Téllez.
This recognition consolidates ESDESIGN as the only 100% online school present in the final, competing at the same level as some of the most renowned in-person institutions in the country.

In addition, the school ranks among the institutions with the highest representation in this edition, sharing second place in number of finalist projects.
The full selection reflects the emerging talent in contemporary design and highlights ESDESIGN’s ability to foster innovative proposals, connected to the real needs of the sector and developed through a flexible, collaborative and fully online methodology.
The finalist projects will form part of the official ‘Delta Awards 2026’ exhibition, which will open on 22 July at Disseny Hub Barcelona (DHUB), the venue that will also host the final ceremony and the announcement of the winning projects. In addition, the proposals will be included in the official awards book, further strengthening their visibility within the professional design ecosystem.
At ESDESIGN, we would especially like to congratulate Iván Alejandro Hernández, Fátima Franco, Lilian Chowell and José Alberto Téllez on this significant achievement, which once again places the talent of our community in one of the most important showcases for industrial design in Spain.
This recognition not only highlights the excellence of the projects submitted, but also the school’s ability to continue training professionals prepared to transform reality through design.
